free online casino gambling play About 55% of smokers gain approximately 3 kilograms after they stop smoking. This increase in weight is caused by two reasons: first: is that Nicotine increases the rate of digestion of any food. Therefore, to stop providing your body with Nicotine makes food burning slower than it was, and this provides a good opportunity for the body to store some of the foods in the form of fats. Second: is that smoking affects the minute parts of the tongue which are responsible for tasting, and thus stopping smoking improves the tasting sense which lead to eat more quantities of food.
Medical studies assures that about 10% of smokers fear to stop smoking because they are afraid of the kilograms gained by stopping smoking, and for this reason not to be your excuse not to stop smoking. I will present some tips to help you stop smoking without gaining any extra weight or any complications.
The decision of stopping smoking has to be accompanied with another decision, which is practicing sports to help alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal from one hand and to resist the increase in weight, on the other hand, in addition to increasing the volume of muscles in the body, as it is known that the muscles are burning fat.
There are also some drinks that help to reduce the tension results from smoking cessation like Orange Juice. You can also stop smoking using some of the following steps:
* Stop smoking at once; it is proved that stopping smoking gradually is usually futile.
* Choosing a particular time to begin stopping smoking, as not to be experiencing heavy pressure.
* Some foods and beverages increase the tendency to smoking so you have to temporarily cease taking them such as coffee, tea, chocolate and red meat. Finally try to get rid of any packet of cigarettes, lighters, or any other thing related to smoking in your house.

How Obesity Increases the Risk Of Developing Osteoarthritis?
By Nick Mutt
When a person is obese or overweight, they have a high risk of several health problems. Obesity and arthritis can be seen as being related. Obesity is a potential risk factor for the onset and deterioration of musculoskeletal conditions of the knee, hip, ankle, foot and shoulder.
When a person is obese they are at an increased risk for developing osteoarthritis. This form of arthritis is most commonly found in the hands, neck, feet and knees. Osteoarthritis affects these joints when there is a breakdown of cartilage in the joints resulting in the joints rubbing against each other and causing excessive damage.
Connection between Obesity and Arthritis
Obesity and arthritis may be connected as increased weight does have an impact on the joints. This weight distribution can be seen as a problem especially on the knees. If a person is obese, it puts a lot of pressure on the knees and feet. In majority of the cases, increased body weight contributes to the increased load transmitted across the weight bearing knees by a factor of three to seven times the body weight and leads to accelerated damage of the cartilage. The load transmitted to the knees varies with increased body weight.
Lose weight or arthritis may just cripple you. If a woman on the heavier side presents herself, her chances of arthritis stands 7 out of 10. Also a consensus of doctors puts the incidence of women being more prone than men at 7 out of 10.
And being a progressively degenerative disorder, arthritis is not fatal but crippling for life. There are two types of arthritis and people often get confused between the two. Rheumatoid arthritis which, according to doctors, is affecting younger women of late, is stated as ‘auto immune disease’ wherein the body’s own antibodies starts fighting against connecting tissues, especially joints. It is so incapacitating that it just cripples a woman overnight and she doesn’t know what to do with herself. For young women of child bearing age, it becomes a crisis.
Physiotherapists feel that are ways of overcoming the pain and subsequent deformities, though to a small extent. Certain orthetic devices have been designed to make the affected person carry out his work independently. There are also some muscles strengthening ways to mobilize joint manually and through electric adjuncts.

Weight Loss Surgery in South Dakota
by Craig B. Thompson
An epidemic is raging in our state: the obesity epidemic. Across South Dakota, the number of overweight and obese individuals is rapidly increasing. In the Mount Rushmore State almost 63% of adults are overweight or obese.
This epidemic is costing South Dakotans more than just their health – it’s costing them money. According to recent data from the U.S. Public Health Service Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the cost to the taxpayer for obesity-related expenditures in our state amounts to over $195 million annually.
And of course the costs of obesity are not limited to dollars and cents. People die from obesity (and related illnesses called co-morbidities) every day. Thousands of South Dakotans with diabetes, cancer, heart conditions, and hypertension suffer as a result these obesity-related illnesses.
Obesity Defined
A person who is significantly above their healthy weight is said to be obese. Healthy weight is calculated in terms of individual body mass index (BMI), but actuarial tables generated from insurance industry statistics are used to determine the actual healthy weight in pounds for persons of various ages, builds, and heights. Your doctor can go over these data with you to determine if you are obese, clinically overweight, or at a healthy weight.
Many of those suffering from obesity have tried everything to lose weight – celebrity diets, brutal exercise regimens, even those snake-oil “medicines” advertised on late-night TV. Some who have tried these methods have lost weight, true, but many others have accomplished nothing other than ruining their health.
Gimmicks are not a safe weight loss option. The only safe way to lose weight is to eat less and become more physically active. Medically-supervised diet and lifestyle modification programs are the ideal way to do this. For some, however, education, counseling, support, and willpower are not enough. Weight loss surgery stands as their weapon of last resort in the war against obesity.
The Surgical Option
When all else fails, doctors can counter a patient’s obesity by physically limiting the amount of food – and thus calories – that he or she can consume. Surgical weight loss – also known as bariatric surgery -- has been proven to help ease (and in some cases completely resolve) obesity-related health problems, as well as lessening their chances of developing weight-related health problems in the future. The procedures (there are three types) are performed under general anesthesia, most laparoscopically.
Making the decision
Weight loss surgery is not a cure-all for being fat. Patients must be prepared for a complete change in lifestyle for the surgery to have the desired long-term effect. Those patients who fail to follow postoperative instructions may regain any weight lost. These operations also involve certain risks, which include infection, nutritional deficiencies, ulcers, hernias, and gallstones. Obese patients should always consult with their physician before making any decision regarding surgical weight loss.
Considering Surgical Weight Loss
We South Dakotans are an individualistic people. Each of us must seek our own best method of staying at a healthy weight. For some, weight loss surgery is that method. We should each consider all the options, and then make an informed decision about our own strategy in the war on obesity in South Dakota.
Weight loss surgery in South Dakota is a growing trend, since over 62% of the state population is overweight or obese. Visit online website for Weight Loss Surgery channel .

The Connection Between Weightloss And Thyroid
by Jackie Serta
slim weight loss healthy
Your thyroid dictates much of your metabolism, any malfunction or disease afflicting this area may cause you to have problems in metabolism leading to a drastic problem with your weight - you may either gain weight, lose weight, or may find that losing weight is harder than usual.
Those that plan diets do not take into consideration how their thyroids and metabolism may affect their weight loss program. Most experts and even the media pitch in and recommend that the best way to lose weight is cut calories.
Those with a condition called hyperthyroidism suffer from an overactive thyroid leading to one having his or her metabolism skyrocket. If this is the case, then you will probably lose weight fast. This is a nice proposition for some who wish to lose weight. However, this is actually hazardous to the health.
Aside from the medical difficulties such a disease brings, one will also notice weight problems as a result. These people have trouble keeping on weight and may notice weakness and bulging of the eyes. This disease may need special treatment from doctors.
Hypothyroidism on the other hand works in the other direction - slowing metabolism until the body gains weight at an incredible rate. Like hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism causes a general weakness in the body. It too may need special treatment and may cause serious health problems if left unattended.
While cutting calories in itself can be very hard for most people - imagine, the people involved in life and death struggles at the supermarket regarding whether to buy that extra box of sweets, some have exactly the opposite problem.
Instead of eating too much calories - which is a problem in itself, they eat too little calories instead.
Problem? What Problem The problem with some is that they believe that since the experts say that they have to cut calories, cutting calories to an inordinate amount will reap greater results. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. While cutting calories helps diets, consuming too little calories pushed the body into a hoard mode, the body's metabolism slow to adapt to the lesser amount of available energy.
If your body enters this mode, your body will work at such slow metabolism that losing weight becomes impossible. The technique here should be to reduce calories without the body slowing its metabolism. Only then can losing weight become easier.
Another problem that can arise from decreased metabolism is that when your metabolism slows due to a drastic reduction in metabolism, and then you suddenly eat a good, hearty, calorie-filled meal, you are bound to gain more weight owing to the increased surplus of energy.
This is why an imbalanced meal is highly discouraged among those that seek to lose weight. The sudden loss and increase of calories will cause an imbalance in one's energy consumption directly affecting fat deposit.
Here is a simple computation to help you get to the right amount of calories you will need per day so that you get your nutrients in the right balance.
First of all, multiply your weight in kilograms by 30. If you only know your weight in pounds, divide it by 2.2 to get to its English equivalent. We divide this number by 30 because that is the number of calories you need to maintain your weight per pound of weight.
For example if your weight in pounds is 150, divide it by 2.2. That will give you a figure of 68.18. This is your weight in kilograms. Multiply this by 30 and you will arrive at the amount of calories you will need per day to maintain 150 lbs.
You may consult a nutritionist to help you come lose weight. In the end it all comes down to math. If you consume more that your body needs, it stores it as fat. Now is probably a good time to start studying the back of those grocery cartons.
Try to keep your diet at a 40% protein, 25% fat, and 35% carbohydrate meals at 300 calories per meal. Spread out these meals in a day for optimum results.
While it may be simple computation to get at numbers, do not forget the earlier mentioned fact that the body adapts to its condition. Expose it to extreme ones and you may find yourself getting results you never wanted. Consult a nutritionist for more advice.

Lose Weight With Diets and Exercise
Author: Jon Caldwell
The surgery has steps taken to modify the amount of digestive tract that is available for the absorption of nutrients thus limiting the amount of nutrients the body absorbs. There are many types of procedures that can be carried out and they are as varied as the approaches they take to lessen the absorption factors. Though some have limitations and not everybody can undergo these procedures maybe due to underlying diseases but patients who do succeed and are candidates do get manageable results to remedy their severe obesity. Grouped into three major areas; Malabsorptive Procedures, Restrictive procedures, and mixed procedures which can attain the effects from a combination of the two previous processes.
Malabsorptive procedures are generally done to lessen the stomach area that is available to absorb and digest nutrients. This can be a bilo-pancreatic division procedure where the stomach is made smaller and the small intestine is then connected to that smaller pouch. This is now loosing appeal due to some problems associated with malnutrition in patients who fail to eat proper diets, succumbing to the opposite of obesity. Another procedure, the Jejuno-ileal bypass is no longer performed due to complications. The act of lessening the area of the stomach is usually permanent and the tissue is absorbed by the body as it is no longer used.
The next group of bariatric surgery, are the restrictive procedures which can have the stomach either permanently made smaller with stapes or have an elastic adjustable band attached to it allowing adjustment of the volume it can contain. The last group, are the most successful for they combine the good points of all the previous procedures, making the stomach shorter and bypassing most of the intestines lessening the absorptive powers of the digestive tract. Gastric bypass surgery, has the stomach stapled making it smaller then the intestines is cut and attached to that smaller pouch. This has seen the most success for it still maintains the function of the whole digestive tract and just diminishes the ability of the organs within to absorb nutrients through volume reduction and bypassing most of the intestines through re-attachment.
The term detoxification is a misnomer for the body has its natural detoxification system which is the liver and there is no more need in boosting or augmenting it. The liver is the best detoxification system in the human body which filters out all the body's toxins sending them out as waste. Another area of artificial fashionable fat loss/reduction products, contain herbal ingredients that over stimulate the body leading to heat stroke due to the loss of too much fluids from the blood which can lead to shock and even death. Choose a diet and exercise regimen that allows loss of a pound or two a week which is more normal and allows the body to re-adjust to the new diet and body mass accordingly. Nothing that is promised to work in a few days that promises tens of pounds off is safe so be healthy.
The stories come out right before awards nights with many celebrities swearing to their effectivity, fasting and detoxification diets. They say they work, yet experts say they're dangerous. First, depriving your body of the full myriad of minerals contained in the various foodstuffs we eat can cause the body's natural balance to become erratic leading to mood-swings, loss of energy and more serious effects to one's health. The variety of foods we eat contains more or less the total amount of minerals fiber and compounds that allows us to stay healthy which is why doctors recommend a well balanced diet from all the food groups. Take away one and it would be similar to pulling one leg from a table and your body tumbles down. There is no quick way to loose weight and you weigh what you eat. The more active a person is the more calories is burned off.
