Why do so many people fail at losing weight? Is it because they are lazy? No. Is it because they are addicted to food? No. Is it because they aren’t good at exercising? No. Failure at weight loss stems from a few main factors:

1) People don't truly understand the risks of being overweight. Why do most want to lose weight? Most would say to look better. Looking better certainly is a benefit of losing weight, but this shouldn’t be the sole reason to lose weight. There is a 1000 pound gorilla in the room and it’s often ignored. Being overweight for a long period of time kills thousands of people each year. Thousands of studies have show and proven without any doubt that losing body fat will improve and lengthen your life. This eBook will give you a picture of the dangers of being overweight. Knowing the dangers of being overweight is a tremendous motivator to not only lose fat, but to keep it off.

2) People don't commit to permanent lifestyle changes. So many people think of a "diet" as something temporary. When they are on a "diet" they restrict themselves so much that they are miserable. Sooner or later failure is inevitable because of the unreasonable demands of most "diets." Some of these diets force you to only eat certain foods (e.g., no carbs, special soups etc…) You, like myself, have probably tried them before. The key to losing weight long term is to make gradual lifestyle changes you can stick to forever.

3) Most individuals are not provided the truthful facts of losing weight and becoming healthier. With the conflicting information in the media, and all of the different lose weight quick fad diets, it’s understandable why so many people really don’t know the truth about losing fat and keeping it off long term. We will go over the no-nonsense truth.

4) Most people don't understand they are constantly either gaining fat, or losing fat. There is no in-between. Some people justify binging or giving up because they hit a small road-block. This isn’t an all or nothing game. For example, when I was overweight, if I ate an unhealthy lunch, I’d go ahead and eat an unhealthy dinner since I already "messed up" the day. Or I’d say, I’ll start eating healthy on Monday since I’ve already eaten poorly this weekend. Every person at times eats too much. The successful people will not let a road bump completely derail their entire lifestyle change. If you are not implementing positive lifestyle changes and losing weight, you are gaining weight. Again, there is no "in-between."

5) Most people don't realize what they consume each day. So many overweight people eat thousands of extra calories and fat without realizing it. It’s tough to know if you are gaining weight or losing weight each day unless you are keeping an eye on what you’re consuming. There are many theories about the origins of the Spa. In Belgium there is a town called ‘Spa’ and many years ago it was believed that people in the town with iron deficiencies were cured by drinking Chalybeate spring water which contained minerals and iron, hence the connection between healing and the word `spa`. Another belief is that the word `spa` is an acronym for a Latin phrase ‘Salus Per Aqua’. It means health or healing through water. Historically the spa has been associated with water treatments.

In the modern world, the Spa has evolved tremendously and you can find a spa in almost any city in any country. Spas now offer a wide range of treatments extending beyond those associated with water. Some spas aim to provide you with total mind and body fitness including healthy eating and a complete body relaxation. These are its main benefits. Some spas offer a one-day experience, or alternatively two to three nights of pure peace and relaxation.

Some spas offer treatments to enhance your beauty and appearance. Examples are mud spa or wrap, facial spa, pedicure, manicure and many others. A body spa or wrap will have the effect of slimming and toning your body. With the appropriate ingredients used, it can even have a whitening effect on your skin. These treatments are particularly popular with women but men are already taking advantage of these treatments to enhance beauty and leave you feeling younger.

An early morning soak in a spa hot tub provides temporary relief from arthritis pain and helps you feel better throughout the day. The heat from the warm water dilates blood vessels, increasing blood flow to damaged tissues and accelerates the body's natural healing process. Hot water reduces pain by stimulating the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain killers.

Many people plagued with sleeping problems are finding the answer in a spa where they can have a relaxing soak in warm water before going to bed to induce a good night’s sleep. "Which is the best exercise to burn fat" is a question that a fitness guru gets asked all the time. As a fitness spokesperson, I must tell the truth - There is no one single exercise that can miraculously stimulate weight loss.

If there was, then everyone would be doing it – no one would be overweight or obese!

Here is a better question - "Which is the best type of exercise to burn fat".

There is a light at the end of the tunnel. There is a certain type of exercise that is best for burning fat. Rather than searching for the elusive gadget, pill, or cream, we should understand that fat loss lies in the type of training – the most effective being aerobic training, also popularly termed as 'cardio exercise'; an abbreviation for 'cardiovascular exercise'. This type of exercise trains the heart to supply more oxygen and nutrients to the muscles and organs.

What is cardio exercise?

'Cardio exercise' is a term commonly used for an exercise in which the body remains under a certain degree of stress, for a certain period of time. In other words, you keep pushing yourself, with little or no rest. For example, if you walk briskly for 1 minute, it does not constitute cardio exercise, but if you walk briskly for 30 minutes, then it does mean that you are engaging in 'cardio training' Generally, cardio training involves exercising for 30 – 45 minutes at a continuous pace, or intensity… Continuity is a key feature of cardio training, and hence this makes cardio training completely different from weight training, which is intermittent in nature, involving stops and starts.

Is cardio training the best way to burn fat? Why?

Definitely! When the body is working continuously, more calories are burnt, which works in favor of fat loss. Also, the muscles use oxygen to burn fat – which is the only way for fat to be blasted out of your body.

Can you give me some examples?

Try something as simple as walking. ! If you cannot walk for some reason, spot marching, using a skipping rope or stair climbing.. (in increasing order of difficulty). In today's times, the advent of modern health clubs provides greater advantages. You now have the choice of exercising in air-conditioned comfort, away from any distractions, using scientifically designed machines that reduce impact on your joints. Also, interactions with other members, and encouragement from fitness trainers can make a big difference. For example, a treadmill is a machine that stimulates walking. A stepper or stair climber stimulates stair climbing. Stationary bicycles can also be used. Specialized devices like elliptical trainers and rowing machines are highlights of advanced health clubs that offer great benefit.

What are the benefits of cardio training?

Fat loss is the primary benefit. Also, improved skin tone, higher energy levels, higher sense of well being and better sleep patterns are noted.

How easy / hard should I train?

As a general guideline, one should exercise at 50 – 70 % of ones capacity for 30 – 45 minutes, 3-5 days a week, for best results. This is generally the pace at which one gets slightly out of breath.

So go out there and find the right intensity for you – it's time to burn those extra fat calories!
