Are There Any Effective Weight Loss Pills That Are Safe?

People all over the world are looking for effective weight loss pills, but many times the only effective weight loss pills are those that have drugs such as Ephedrine in them that are incredibly dangerous to your health.

Even so, people continue to take pills that have Ephedrine in them and that blows my mind, but that's another story for another time.

In this article I'm going to let you know my opinion on weight loss pills and whether or not there are really any effective weight loss pills that are safe for your body.

So first let's start with the reason why you'd want to take them.

I'm guessing you either already have a hard time losing weight, you can lose weight fine but are simply very impatient, or you're "hardcore" and want to get as lean as possible.

Am I right?

First of all let me say that the only person I'd have any sympathy for in this instance is the person who has a very hard time losing weight even though they're eating healthy, exercising, and doing all the right steps.

If you're taking weight loss pills because you "need" to drop those last few pounds in order to look perfect for God knows who, well then you might want to consider talking to a doctor about your self-esteem issues.

Anyway, honestly, no, I don't think there are any effective weight loss pills that are safe. You wanted my answer, no ya have it.

Here's the problem.

Most diet pills straight out lie to you when it comes to the "facts" they present you with. The studies they show are either set up to look favorably towards the product, they're simply not even true, or they manipulate the results to make it look like people lost a lot of weight.

For example, there's one research study that shows how people lost something like 4x the amount of weight than they did without the weight loss pill.

However, what they don't tell you is that both groups lost almost no weight, even during a 10 week period! I think they lost something like 2 pounds in the group that took the "effective" weight loss pill, and 0.5 pounds when not taking it.

And even though there are a few effective weight loss pills that will actually help you lose weight, it's still artificially stimulating your metabolism which will cause major problems down the road.

Think about it - if you're artificially stimulating your metabolism now, it doesn't have to work as hard to stay high. But when you stop taking the pills, it's going to crash because it won't know how to keep itself elevated and you're going to balloon back up immediately!

So there you have it.

In my opinion there are no effective weight loss pills that are safe. My advice to you is to stop being lazy, learn the real truth on how to lose weight effectively, and just do it! Stop trying to find shortcuts or be lazy about it, just start eating better and exercising. And if you're doing everything right and still can't lose weight, go visit a specialist who deals with people like you because you actually might have a problem you need to get fixed.

In any case, there are no effective weight loss pills that are safe so stop trying to find them and start learning how to lose weight and get in great shape doing it the natural and healthy way!

You may think that if you are not a professional weight lifter or body builder, or if you do not want to "bulk up," then weight training equipment is not for you. But this is not true at all.

59 million people have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater,
compared with 23 percent in 1994.

For adults, a BMI of 18.5 - 24.9 is considered normal. A BMI of

television, computers, remote controls, or automobiles, we seem

Here are a few examples of what we were eating in the 1970's
compared to our diet today (information is taken from a recent
U.S. Department of Agriculture survey):

- We are currently eating more grain products, but almost all of
them are refined grains (white bread, etc.). Grain consumption
has jumped 45 percent since the 1970s, from 138 pounds of grains
per person per year to 200 pounds! Only 2 percent of the wheat
flour is consumed as whole wheat.

- Our consumption of fruits and vegetables has increased, but
only because the U.S.D.A. includes French fries and potato chips
as a vegetable. Potato products account for almost a third of our
"produce" choices.

- We're drinking less milk, but we've more than doubled our
cheese intake. Cheese now outranks meat as the number one source
of saturated fat in our diets.

- We've cut back on red meat, but have more than made up for the
loss by increasing our intake of chicken (battered and fried), so
that overall, we're eating 13 pounds more meat today than we did
back in the 1970s.

- We're drinking three times more carbonated soft drinks than
milk, compared to the 1970's, when milk consumption was twice
that of pop.

- We use 25 percent less butter, but pour twice as much vegetable
oil on our food and salads, so our total added fat intake has
increased 32 percent.

- Sugar consumption has been another cause of our expanding
waistlines. Sugar intake is simply off the charts. According to
the U.S. Department of Agriculture, people are consuming roughly
twice the amount of sugar they need each day, about 20 teaspoons
on a 2000 calorie/day diet. The added sugar is found mostly in
junk foods, such as pop, cake, and cookies.

- In 1978, the government found that sugars constituted only 11
percent of the average person's calories. Now, this number has
ballooned to 16 percent for the average American adult and as
much as 20 percent for American teenagers.

The days of the wholesome family dinners so near and dear to our
hearts, where we all sat around the kitchen table to discuss
events of the day, are now a part of our sentimental past. They
have been replaced by our cravings for take-out and fast-food. We
have gradually come to accept that it's "OK" to sacrifice healthy
foods for the sake of convenience and that larger serving
portions mean better value.

And, since I have been throwing-out statistics, here's one more:
Americans are consuming about 300 more calories each day than we
did twenty years ago. We should actually be eating less because

The Secret to Slim Thighs

What's the secret to getting slim thighs? First, let me tell what it is not. You will never get the legs you want just by using those traditional leg machines at your gym or by doing day after day of boring cardio.

The reality is that you always see people at the gym doing this stuff and never seeing the results they want.

The real secret to getting your thighs slim involves 3 components:
1) Proper nutrition,
2) Strength training and
3) Cardio (but not the typical kind of cardio everyone does).

1. Proper Nutrition: I am going to be honest with you. You will never ever get slimmer thighs if you don't put the right foods in your body. It doesn't matter how great your workout routine is or what you may have heard or read. If you eat the wrong foods your body will maintain or store more body fat around your midsection, your arms, your butt and your thighs.

And fat is what blurs the visibility of the underlying muscles. When you have excess body fat you cannot see any muscular definition. So, if you want to get your thighs slimmer you have to eat enough of the right kinds of nutritious, fat burning foods that will help keep your legs sexy and lean.

A great rule of thumb I tell my clients is to make sure you eat at least 5 small meals each day. But, all 5 are not really "meals".

3 are meals and 2 are snacks. So, it looks like this:


Getting into the habit of eating more frequently is how you start to boost your metabolism to burn fat so you can begin to get slim thighs much faster than if you eat fewer meals.

2. Strength Training: Usually when I tell women they need strength training to make their thighs slimmer they look at me like they've just seen a ghost.

"But, I don't want to get bulky muscles" is a typical response I get. I don't know where this myth came from but I want to clarify something here.

Getting "bulky" muscles just from strength training is 100% pure myth. Here's why. Building the kind of muscle mass that you see on a bodybuilder is absolutely unrealistic for the majority of people especially women. Women naturally have lower levels of testosterone which makes it more difficult to build muscle mass versus men.

Here is something else to consider. If you want slim thighs with nice "tone" you have to possess a certain level of muscularity anyway. You can burn all the body fat you want but if you don't have any real muscle on your legs your slim thighs will look more like toothpicks instead of sexy legs with curves.

That doesn't mean you will "bulk up". You simply fit the level of muscularity to match your goal. Adding some lean muscle to your thighs will give you that sexy curvaceous appeal you are looking for. And that comes from intense strength training and not from doing the leg machines at the gym with light weights and lots of repetitions.

You will never get slimmer thighs with nice definition that way. You have to lift heavier and smarter with just the right amount of rest in between to allow your body to recuperate which is when your thighs slim down.

Try these thigh slimming exercises to get you started:

forward lunge walks
sideways lunge walks
box or bench jumps

3. Cardiovascular Training: I never said no cardio. I said not the traditional cardio everyone else does. I am going to suggest a different twist on your typical cardio routine that will burn more calories and fat while stimulating your thighs to add some lean, sexy muscle tone.

Getting your thighs slim requires the combination of sufficient muscularity and low body fat. Your muscles lie underneath a layer of fat cells. Fat cells store body fat. The more fat you carry the bigger your fat cells become and the less visible your muscles are. So, to see those slim thighs underneath you also need to burn the fat from your fat cells.

Here's a tip to get you started:

Perform 90% Heart Rate Peaks- Instead of doing the typical marathon cardio workout in your "fat burning zone" you are going to perform a much higher intensity workout but for a shorter time period.

This will allow you to burn more calories and fat long after your workout is over. Here is what you do:

Use the formula 220 - your age to get a number. Now, multiply that number by .85 and write down the product. Next, multiply the number by .75 and write down that product. The 2 products are your low and high end heart rate ranges.

Example for a 35-year old: 220 - 35 = 185
185 X .85 = 157
185 X .75 = 138

Heart rate range would be 138 (low end) to 157 (high end).

You will perform your cardio workout on any piece of equipment of your choice. Warm up for 5 minutes by gradually building your heart rate up to your low end range (138 in the above example). Then you will increase the intensity until your heart rate peaks at your high end range (157 beats per minute in the above example).

Once you reach your high end range you immediately drop the intensity and recover back down to your low end range. Once you reach your low end range peak back up again. Repeat this process of peaking and recovering for 30 minutes. Then record the total number of times you peaked to your high end range.

The next time you perform this you will try to beat the total number of peaks. Cool down for 5 minutes by gradually decreasing the intensity until your heart rate is at your low end range or lower. Stretch for 5-10 minutes.

And there you have it.... the real secret to getting slim thighs.

How To Get Slim With Healthy Eating Habits

Many women want to be slim. Maybe you’re one of them. Perhaps you’re getting married soon and you want to fit into your wedding gown comfortably. Or perhaps you simply want to look (and feel) great in a swimsuit or bikini.

Whatever your reason for wanting to be slim, there are some things you can do to become slim while staying healthy. If you are reading this article, chances are you want to know what those things are. Read on then, to find out.

First thing is to assess your current eating habits. This is important because you need to know what’s not working. If your current eating habits are keeping you overweight, and you want to be slim, it figures that you need to change those eating habits. If something is not working, change it.

Assessing your current eating habits.

Keep a record of your eating habits for a week. The record should contain the following information:

What you are eating

How much you’re eating

When you eat (note the times) – you want to know how far apart your meals and snacks are.

Why you’re eating at those times – is it because you’re hungry, or are you ‘comfort eating’?

How you feel after eating – pleasantly satisfied or bloated and stuffed.

How many glasses of water you drink each day

When you find out your current eating habits, you’ll need to determine which habits are sabotaging your efforts to lose weight. Those are the ones you want to change. More on that later.

Goal Setting

Determine what your weight goal is. Or you may prefer to monitor your progress in terms of your waistline or hip measurements. Whichever one suits you is best.

Form a mental picture of yourself looking the way you want to look. Goals are more powerful and empowering when we visualize them. Hold that mental picture in your mind at all times.

NOTE: Eating healthily is not all there is to getting slim. You must become more physically active (read ‘exercise’) in addition to eating properly if you’re to lose weight permanently. This article deals with the healthy eating part of that equation.

Action Plan

Now that you know what your ideal size is, you have a goal that you’re working towards. You need to then determine a plan of action to help you achieve that goal.

To help you decide on the right plan, bear in mind that eating should be a pleasure. Ask yourself the following questions:

Which nutritious foods do I enjoy eating ?

How soon after eating do I get hungry again? Most adults get hungry about 3 to 4 hours after eating a meal.

Do I eat only when I’m hungry? Hint: You should.

How can I stay full? Drink lots of water. Scientists recommend between 6 and 8 glasses of water daily. Your body needs it, and it helps you stay full.

With the answers to those questions in mind, form an action plan, and start a new daily record to help you keep track of your progress. This new record should contain the same columns as your initial current habits record. This way you can monitor each improvement and celebrate accordingly.

When deciding on which actions to take, you need to refer back to your initial assessment of your current eating habits. Decide which habits are preventing you from losing weight. Write down alternative habits that you want to cultivate, which will help you get slim.

These new habits you want to form are now your ‘targets’ – milestones on your way to your ideal body shape and size.

Taking Action

To form healthy eating habits, start with small changes.

Don’t make too many changes at once. Set yourself main targets, such as ‘I will drink 8 glasses of water each day’, then set smaller targets to help you reach each main target.

Using the example above, a small target could be ‘I will drink an extra glass of water after each meal’. When you break down your targets, they don’t seem so daunting. They seem easily achievable, so you feel encouraged to stick to them.

Decide on the foods you will be eating regularly. Make sure they’re foods you enjoy.

Eat small portions, about 5 or 6 times each day, instead of three large meals. This helps keep your metabolic rate high, and helps you lose weight naturally.

How to stay motivated to continue eating healthily

Believe that you can do it, and accept responsibility for your health and for the way your body looks.

Reward yourself each time you successfully complete a small target. Celebrate each small success – don’t wait until you’ve lost tons of weight before you reward yourself. Make the journey enjoyable by treating yourself each time you make progress.

Keep in mind what you hope to achieve – remind yourself of how lovely and healthy your body is becoming each day as a result of your new eating habits. Remember, each small step in the right direction is bringing you closer to your main target.

With a clear goal in mind, a feasible action plan and tips to help you stay motivated, you should find it easy to form habits that keep you slim and healthy at the same time.

If you are looking for a great diet, then you should try what they call moderation. When people begin over indulging in sweets, fats, carbohydrates, or anything else they end up gaining weight because there is left over energy that is not burned. It is also horrible for you to cut carbs or fat completely. Your body needs both of them and you just need to know how and were to get them from.

The key is to make sure that you get at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise 3 times a week. This is necessary only to maintain your current body shape. Of course, if you are not currently working out, then you will lose some weight if you do the minimum of 3 weekly sessions of 30 minutes of aerobic exercise. If you really want to lose weight, then you should perform 4 or more sessions of 45 minutes of aerobic exercise.

This may take some time in order to work up to and you may be discouraged at first, but understand that if you go from no working out to even 15 minutes a few times a week you are taking a step in the right directions. From there you will be able to work up to 30 minutes a day and all the way to 45 minutes a day over time. Allow yourself 8 - 10 good weeks to get there and you will see great progress. The key is to stick to your workout plan and make it a habit.

So now you know that the fastest way to lose weight is the old fashion way, diet and exercise. There is no need for you to try out fad diets or try to use workout plans that don't work. Stick to your plan to exercise and eat right and after about eight weeks you will see results. You should lose around 1-3 pounds a week, anymore than this will be unhealthy unless it is the first few weeks.
